Converting Office 2007 Documents
With the recent release of Office 2007, a number of students, teachers, and staff have experienced difficulties in saving documents at home using Office 2007 and bringing those files into the Mt. Lebanon School District network which uses Office 2003. The purpose of this document is to illustrate the steps that users should follow at home to ensure that their Office 2007 documents are saved in an Office 2003 format that will render them usable within the MTLSD network.

This document provides an overview of the Office 2007 Compatibility Pack as well as instructions for installation. The compatibility pack, installed a computer with Office 2003, will allow users to open documents saved in the Office 2007 format.

This document illustrates the steps users should take in Word 2007, but can be easily extended into Excel 2007, PowerPoint 2007, and other Office 2007 applications.

NDrive 2.0
The NDrive is a great new addition to the Dashboard interface this year. Click here to access Frequently Asked Questions that will hopefully assist you with your use of this valuable tool. If you are still experiencing problems with the NDrive, please send an email to NDriveProblems@mtlsd.net and we will be happy to assist you.

Some "common problems"

 - Make sure you use MTLSD and not MTLSD/ (notice the slash)
    before your user name [image]

 - The NDrive 2.0 web interface is newly supported on additional browsers
    (Microsoft Internet Explorer 7.0, Firefox).  Please let us know if
    you experience browser compatibility issues and we will work to find a
    solution.

Dashboard
The Dashboard is a valuable communications tool for teachers, parents, and students.  Often times, your building secretary is the best source of information for you.  Click here for a list of building secretaries who can help you by looking up passwords and forwarding additional problems to the appropriate members of our staff.  You may also send an email to DashboardProblems@mtlsd.net and we will be happy to assist you.

Some "common problems"

 - Forgotten User ID/Password - Call or email your building secretary

 - How to add or modify parent email addresses in Dashboard - Open PDF

 - Assignment and Class Event details don't open when clicked.  Make
    sure that you have pop-up blocking turned off for mtlsd.org.  Click
    here for a helpful resource from the University of Conneticut that
    shows you how to disable pop-up blocking with a number of popular
    software packages like Microsoft, Google, Yahoo, etc.

Pop-Up Blocking
There are a number of sites in the mtlsd.org family that provide greater functionality if you disable pop-up blocking while you are on them.  This document, created at the University of Conneticut, provides help for disabling pop-up blocking on a number of popular blocking applications.
